About This List

We've worked hard to research organizations that are helping in the fight against extreme poverty and HIV/AIDS suffering worldwide. In doing so, we've upheld a high standard of accountability in these organizations by looking at their missions, how they work, how transparent they are, and the results of their work.

While we've thoroughly researched these organizations, we encourage you to do your own research. We are in no way directly involved with these organizations, nor are we responsible for them, although we do endorse them.

• ACCION International

  Provides microloans, business training, and other financial services to poor men and women who start their own businesses

• African Medical and Research Foundation

  Distributes preventative and medical treatment for Malaria, HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis and health education programs in impoverished communities

• Africare

  Administers financial resources and emergency relief funds to local communities in Africa to start self-sustaining agricultural, water, and HIV/AIDS programs in Africa

• Blood: Water Mission

  Builds clean water wells, financially supports medical facilities, and focuses on community and worldview transformation, both here in America and in Africa

• CARE

  Delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives, specializing in financial, medical, and agricultural aide to women and children

• Church World Service

  Constructs emergency homes for refugees, provides financial start-up assistance to impoverished communities, advocates for action in the U.S. through the CROP Walks Program

• Compassion International

  Provides children living in poverty with food, shelter, education, health care, and Christian teaching

• DKT International

  Supplies family planning and AIDS prevention products to people around the globe.

• Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

  Fund critical health research, launch global health programs, and advocate for children's health in HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention

• Engineering Ministries International

  Designs, constructs and supports buildings, roads, clean water projects in impoverished nations, while partnering with Christian organizations and sharing the Gospel with the communities they serve

• FINCA International

  Provides microfinance services and loans to the world's lowest-income entrepreneurs, targeting primarily women

• Mercy Corps

  Supplies emergency relief services to disaster and war affected communities and financial aid to implement self-sustainable economic development in recovering communities

• Opportunity International

  Provides microenterprise development including business training, mentoring, financial planning, and leadership development to the world's poorest people.

• Pathfinder International

  Creates partnerships with local communities to administer reproductive and family health care, and provides HIV/AIDS preventative and treatment medicine

• Project Concern International

  Digs wells, builds latrines, and constructs safe water and sewage systems, administers HIV/AIDS and disease prevention treatment, and provides food supplies and emergency relief services to impoverished communities

• Samaritan's Purse

  Provides spiritual and physical aid to victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine around the world.

• Save The Children

  Supplies emergency relief and long-term construction aid, in addition to agriculture and health service start-up programs

• The Hunger Project

  Mobilizes rural communities to create their own schools, health centers, food security, literacy training and banking through professional, financial, and structural aid

• The Rafiki Foundation

  Houses, feeds, and educates orphans and other children victimized by the AIDS epidemic in Africa into Godly contributors in their countries.
