Details

Water Missions International is a nonprofit Christian engineering organization serving water and sanitation needs of people in developing countries. Their mission is to provide sustainable access to safe water and an opportunity to hear the "Living Water" message in developing countries and disaster areas.

Engineering is the heart of WMI's work. WMI has developed two different water treatment systems: the Living Water™ Treatment System for sustainable community development and the Rapid Response Water Treatment System for disaster relief. When other types of safe-water technologies are called for, WMI's engineers can custom design the appropriate solution. In addition to bringing water closer to disaster situation and closer to people's homes, WMI's systems make the water completely safe to drink, which dramatically cuts down on waterborne diseases.

The effects of having plentiful, safe water readily available are far-reaching, including dramatic reductions in disease, improvements in health and productivity, and a new feeling of hope for the future. In 2007, WMI installed Living Water™ Treatment Systems in Bolivia, Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Uganda. Past projects have installed Living Water&Trade; Treatment Systems in Afghanistan, Belize, Canada, Cook Islands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guam, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Peru, Romania, Rwanda, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey and Uganda.
